In the early 2000s, not long after Kawai graciously agreed to assist Steinway in the fabrication of their Boston series line; Steinway decided to team up with another piano manufacturer and created a new line of pianos, Essex.
For this project Pearl River, the world’s largest piano manufacturer’s expertise, cheap labor and scaling capabilities was leveraged.
The Pearl River, Steinway team up has proven mutually beneficial and the relationship continues to today.
